In the post Winner Photo Contest Autumn, I was delighted to announce that the jury voted my picture of the Posbank, as best picture of the autumn contest.  Even more motivated, I sent in pictures for the other 3 seasons resulting in a second place in the winter and spring contest.

To announce the winner of the public vote, all pictures which became first, second or third in the individual season contest, were on display in the town hall. The public was invited to vote for one of the twelve pictures. These pictures showed perfectly the beautiful area we live in.

On November 17, the winner was announced in the town hall and I’m even more delighted and proud that my picture of the Posbank has won the public vote.

Monchique

Last September, Jacqui and myself stayed in the town of Monchique between the hills of the Algarve Portugal. A great location with stunning views of the coastline in the south. In the evening, while having a delicious dinner, you could see the flickering lights of  Portimão and Lagos in the distance.

Like most inland towns in Portugal, Monchique still has lots of character.

Inspiring Posbank

As you were able to see in posts of the past, a place I really adore is the Posbank. It is an inspiring place all year long, especially in August, when the heather is blooming. Photographers, walkers and cyclers come from all angles to witness its beauty. It is just great to have this on my doorstep.

Garrus beach Ireland

This June, I visited Ireland again and in the late afternoon of the 20th I went to Garrus beach, just a couple of kilometers west of Tramore. Again a wonderful spot of the Copper coast which stretches from Tramore to Dungarvan. This geopark is still undiscovered territory for most of the tourists. After being chased by some bulls, I managed to get on top of the cliffs and witnessed a spectacular view. At first it was cloudy but just before the sun was setting, it peeked through the clouds creating beautiful light over the scene. I definitely will come back in winter time when the sun will rise over the sea (and the bulls are gone).

Coast of Zeeland

During my work in the provence of Zeeland, unfortunately the possibilities to explore with the camera where very limited.

Last Saturday I finally had to opportunity to make some pictures of the North sea waves, broken by the line of poles on the beach.
