Schoorl in Ireland

The ‘Schoorl group’ is a group of friends sharing the same passion of photography. I’m proud to be part of this group and I can call them solid friends. Some 12 years ago we met on the high dunes of Schoorl in the Netherlands, hence the name ‘Schoorls group’. Maybe not the most fancy name but after the group became more solid, we just kept the name to remember the groups origin.

During the last 12 years we visited many places together, sometimes just for a day and at least once a year, plan a couple of days. What is so nice about this group is that everybody has their own unique speciality in photography hence we end up with completely different pictures at the end of the day.

After I immigrated to Ireland, there was always the idea to come over here. Covid postponed this idea but finally last year we could organize this. I was so looking forward to welcome them in our house and show them where we live now. It was so great showing the group the Copper Coast, Comeragh Mountains, Hook Head, Woodstown, introducing them them full Irish breakfasts, Shepherds Pie, Guinness and rugby.

It was such a pleasure to have them around and I have a feeling that this was not the last time.
