Ireland December 2014 Part 1

Like every year, we spent Christmas in Waterford Ireland. Fortunately, there is always an opportunity to escape the Christmas and New Year madness and capture some of the beauty of this area.

This time I was invited by Owen O’Grady to come to Dungarvan. Together with Frankie Lloyd, we went to the Nire valley in the Comeragh mountains. Owen showed me also the beauty (and the madness) of Dungarvan. Joy and Owen, thanks for your hospitality.

Later in the week, I went to Woodstown beach to witness an amazing sunrise and great light on Tramore beach.

Hope you like the pictures.

A happy new year.

What a difference a morning makes

Last week I went twice in the early morning to the Posbank. The first morning on the 22nd of November had a feel of an Indian Summer, a really nice temperature. During that day lots of families went out for a walk enjoying the weather and the beautiful autumn colours. A few days later, on the 25th of November, we experienced the first frost. Again I went early to the Posbank and walked to the same locations where I was a couple of days before. A real change in landscape in a matter of days.

What a difference a morning makes!!

From set to rise

After working in Amsterdam, I took a detour along the Markermeer hoping for a beautiful sunset. It was well  worth the effort because the sky was really stunning during the sunset. The morning after I went to the Posbank hoping for a foggy sunrise. The sunrise wasn’t as stunning as the sunset the night before, but still beautiful light over the hills of the Posbank.

Hope you like the series.

Thanks for watching.

Winner contest ‘Dutch skies’

During August and September 2014 there was an exhibition about ‘Dutch skies’ in museum De Hallen in Haarlem. Different kinds of art related to Dutch skies, were shown in the museum. On my birthday we went to this very interesting exhibition.

Parallel with this exhibition, a photo contest was organized and I’m proud to announce that I’m one of the three winners.

Here you can find the announcement of the museum.
